The Steiner SAS company, based in Saint Marcel, France, was run as a family business for more than a century before beginning its industrial metamorphosis within the Orgasynth Group and continuing its expansion within the Axyntis Group from July 2007 onwards. Created in 1881 with its Benzene distillery, Steiner now boasts unrivalled facilities and expertise in the field of solid and liquid dye phases. With its 80 highly-skilled employees, Steiner has retained the key virtues it has carefully nurtured over the years: proximity and mutual trust with its customers. Steiner also offers its customers turnkey manufacture, maintaining the strictest confidentiality, along with a broad range of dyes available by order from its catalogue.
Steiner is the only manufacturer in Europe to guarantee full mastery of all the critical stages of synthetic dye manufacture. With more than 8,000 tonnes of products formulated per year, its R&D laboratory, warehouses, production units, drying and milling capacities, quality control laboratory and water treatment station make the Saint Marcel site a unique facility. With Steiner, customers can be sure that the company will keep its promises in terms of quality, delivery times and quantities. Its sales and technical support resources, available throughout Europe, also mean that it is able to provide its customers with on-site added-value services relating to the use of its dyes.
Today, oil products – and, in particular domestic heating oil – represent the main outlet for the markers and tracers produced by Steiner, while dyes for paper, cardboard, textiles and leather are its principal application markets. Operating within a leading fine chemicals and specialities group and with a subsidiary in the United Kingdom, Steiner UK, Steiner can now focus on positioning itself as a prime supplier of major European chemical groups and extending its offer beyond Europe. The renovation of part of its substance range will also enable it to break into new markets, with innovative colouring solutions developed by R&D: wood, inks, etc.
Steiner is ISO 9001 version 2000 and ISO 14001 certified and incorporates the new Reach legislation with the support of teams from the Axyntis group. Proof, if proof were required, that, from tradition to modernity, Steiner is the ideal solution for purchasing your dyes.
